April
Farewell
to Dawn Woolsey as our intrepid webmaster. She's cutting the
rope and letting us fly on our own. Bill Hobson is the first
to take a crack at the maintenance and updates to this website.
The
band (minus Dale And Al and plus ex-Ryder Ken "Turk"
Kirkwood) will be performing with Big Hank Lionheart at the Overdrive
pub in St. Albert on April 20 and 21. Rumour has it that there's
a CD in the works for this band.
This
month you can catch Dale Ladouceur at the Edmonton Earth day
Celebrations at Hawrelak Park on the afternnoon of April 22.
March
2007 started off with the band (minus our singers Al and Dale)
playing the Blues on Whyte with old friend Hank Lionheart.
Hank's a Stettler brother who made good in the 80s with Uncle
Wiggly's Hot Shoes Blues Band. Shortly after that we were
back at the B on W for one show in the afternoon of Jan 27 for
the Winter Blues Fest. We all had a great time with Bill
Bourne, Tippy a Gogo and Laurelle playing the S.I.R.E.N.S.
Benefit around Valentines day. This was our second gig
for S.I.R.E.N.S. and we were happy to help with their good works.
Bill's studio is nearing completion and with any luck it should
be finished before summer. This means that a new Tacoy Ryde CD
is going to be produced very soon. We have a great new crop of
songs already being performed and once the disc is released we
expect to be getting some good airplay for the big fourtieth
anniversary summer in 2008. (See REVIEWS
for Peter North's impression of some of the new songs).
Special thanks to Dawn Woolsey for designing our website and
going the extra mile helping us fill it up with the proper content.
Dale Ladouceur is busy writing and musical directing a Theatre
Yes
production called The Enchantment. Bill Hobson is in the
band along with
Brett Miles on saxophones flute and percussion. The show opens
on March 9th
and runs to March 25th at Cite Francophone. Tickets/Info
at Tix on the
Square or at the Workshop West website, www.workshopwest.org.
Barrie Nighswander is musical director for Margo Kane's "Confessions
of
an Indian Cowboy" which has been and will continue to

the world off and on. For more information check www.fullcircle.ca.
Al Brant's much anticipated solo CD "Songs for the Morning
Sun" will be
officially released at the Blue Chair in Edmonton on March
17th. Barrie will
be performing with him on that night. Al has added a second night
March 31st
at the Blue Chair due to a sold out night on the 17th. Duane
Smith will be
playing Bass on that night. Visit www.albrant.ca
